Product Name: KTO – Adjustable Film Applicator
Frame Material: Precision-machined, high-quality oxidized metal
Scraper Material: Corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, high-grade stainless steel
Precise Coating: Adjust the scraper gap up and down by twisting a high-precision differentiator. Adjust in 10-micron increments. High-Toughness Spring: A special metal spring drives the scraper up and down, achieving precise coating thickness. Thickened stainless steel scraper: Easy to clean, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant.
KTQ-II Adjustable Film Applicator Instructions
1. The adjustable film applicator adjusts the scraper blade up and down to control the gap (i.e., the final coating thickness) by adjusting the two differentials on the top of the applicator. The scraper blade gap is adjusted in 10-micron increments during coating, with a coating range of 0 to 3500 microns. Accuracy: ±2 microns.
2. Before use, the instrument is generally adjusted to the “0” position. If not, adjust the instrument on parallel plates. To adjust to “0,” rotate the two differentials so that the scraper blade tip is flush with the bottom surfaces of the two plates. The differentials should now read the same, with the upper scale aligned with the lower scale. Rotate the differential at “0” to adjust the scraper blade to the desired gap (i.e., the desired coating thickness). Then, manually hold the two plates and apply the scraper blade to the sample to create the desired coating.
3. After use, clean and dry the instrument with solvent. Adjust the scraper blade to a relaxed spring to reduce spring fatigue. Place the instrument in the box.
