Nafion PFSA polymer dispersions from Chemours (formerly DuPont) are made from chemically stabilized perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA)/polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) acid (H+) forms in a variety of polymer contents and dispersant compositions. Typical uses include the manufacture of thin film and coating formulations for fuel cell membranes, catalyst coatings, sensors and various electrochemical applications.
Nafion membrane is a fluorinated polymer functionalized with sulfonic acid groups.
The product has been enhanced for improved energy efficiency.
Applications: Nafion perfluorinated membrane is a composite membrane, which is utilized as an ion-exchange membrane for the fabrication of fuel cells. It can also be used as an electrolytic separator for the preparation of small scale supercapacitors.
Nafion is a perfluorinated ion exchange membrane with widespread commercial use. Its acidic (hydrogen ion) form and derivatives are solid superacid catalysts that can be used in many synthetic applications.

This product is suitable for electrolyte separators in fuel cells, vanadium batteries, electrolyzers, electrodialysis, and electrochemical sensors.
DuPont Nafion 115 membrane is a non-reinforced membrane based on a perfluorosulfonic acid/PTFE copolymer that is chemically stable in the acid (H+) form. The physical properties of the chemically stable membrane remain unchanged, and the release of fluoride ions is greatly reduced compared to the non-stabilized polymer, which is a sign of improved chemical durability. Nafion PFSA membranes are widely used in proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells and water electrolyzers. The membrane acts as a separator and solid electrolyte in a variety of electrochemical cells that require the membrane to selectively transfer cations across the cell junction. The polymer is chemically resistant and durable.
