In 1970, Kureha took the lead in Japan to start industrial production of polyvinylidene fluoride resin (PVDF), with the trade name KF Polymer. KF Polymer is an engineering plastic that has both the excellent properties of fluororesins and molding and processing properties comparable to general-purpose resins. With its heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and weather resistance, it is widely used in electronic materials, fishing lines, guitar strings, and violin strings. At the same time, the product is also being used in cutting-edge technology fields such as adhesives for lithium-ion batteries and hollow fibers for water treatment.
